PRSSA

I recently began a project involving the group PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America). My friend April and I are in charge of creating a new poster to market our group and encourage other classmates to join. This year we are in charge of the annual fashion show, which requires participants to pick out an outfit from the local Goodwill and rock their stuff on the stage in front of the Simpson College student body.

Another activity we are involved in is marketing the Women's NCAA basketball team. We are partnering with the Iowa Events Center in the Grass Roots marketing plan. This plan requires us to place cutouts of basketball players in storefronts around the sky walk and throughout Des Moines, spray chalk stencils on streets, place stickers of women's basketball players on sky walks, give away basketballs with the NCAA logo to children within the local Indianola and surrounding areas. These are some activities, among many others, that are part of this event.

An additional activity we have taken on is advertising our school's literary and artistic magazine, the SEQUEL. This gives students the opportunity to display their creative writings and artwork to the student body. Creative writings include poems, short stories, and photographs. It is published annually which makes marketing for the magazine important.

I'm very excited to complete our poster and hope it brings new members to the group! Here is a little sample of what we've accomplished:

How exciting!
